 Gerry Hassan - Facilitator & Trainer


Gerry has worked with Suzy and Business Training New Zealand since 2007.  During this time Gerry has been involved in training delivery for a wide and diverse group of Business Training NZ clients in the areas of customer experience management, communication strategies, time management, management, leadership, conflict resolution and sales skills.  Prior to this Gerry was involved in the retail industry, where he established and managed his own Retail Stores.

Gerry became involved in training and facilitation after selling his business and has facilitated hundreds of workshops since.  Gerry is a passionate, dynamic and enthusiastic facilitator who has a wealth of knowledge and experience.

 Lucy Burke - Facilitator & Trainer

Lucy arrived in New Zealand in January 2019 after spending 13 years in the Middle East.  Since 2008, Lucy has worked as a trainer and instructional designer in a range of sectors, including energy, banking and finance, retail, healthcare, social and environmental, transport and government.  Her training spectrum covers management & leadership, customer service, interpersonal communication and team building, time management, creative problem solving, decision making, report writing and professional business writing.

Lucy is a Certified Professional in Learning & Performance (ATD) and holds a BA in Languages for Business, Post Graduate Certificate of Education and a Certificate in Executive Coaching.

Lucy is a creative, motivational trainer who brings a wealth of experience to the training room in a fun and engaging manner.  Her training style is relaxed and pragmatic as well as being highly interactive and flexible to the needs of participants.

Recognising that the best learning opportunitiess often come from the participants' own experiences, Lucy ensures that each of her courses is highly engaging, with the emphasis based on dealing with the reality of the environment, as well as the theory. 

 Rachel Bowen - Facilitator & Trainer

Rachel studied Business Studies and has a masters degree in Human Resource Development.  For many years Rachel worked for a large government department as a supervisor, front-line manager and managers manager, providing training, developing and negotiating policies and managing large teams and multi-million dollar budgets. More recently

Rachel has worked for a non-government organisation managing a team of volunteers and has experience in working with teen parents. She has academic qualifications to back up her practical experience and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her training. 

Rachel is a well-qualified, enthusiastic and experienced trainer who connects easily with all types of people. Rachel is committed to making your training course a valuable, enjoyable and informative investment.

 Garth Castle - Facilitator & Trainer

Garth comes to Business Training New Zealand with a considerable amount of experience across many sectors including retail, finance and social services. He has worked with organisations such as The Warehouse, McDonald's and Westpac. 

Garth's experience includes over twenty years in learning and development training, along with roles in operations management, human resources and account management. Garth has also developed two business ventures from conception through to commercialisation and is a published author.

Garth is passionate about helping people learn, grow and prosper.  His wealth of knowledge and experience not only provides credibility, it also demonstrates that he has 'walked the talk'!

Lynn Blokker- Facilitator & Trainer

Lynn emigrated from South Africa in 2011 with her family and resides in Auckland.

She is passionate about people and with her background as an Industrial Psychologist, is a learning and development specialist.  Lynn has 12 years experience in delivering and developing training programmes within organisations.  She is focused on enabling indivuduals and teams to develop their skills to function optimally.

Lynn is a dedicatd, compassionate and highly skilled facilitator who is committed to making a positive difference in people's lives.

 Renee Evans - Office Manager

Renee EvansRenee has been with us for many years, she has a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked as Product Marketing Manager for Click Clack New Zealand for 7 years, along with a Bachelor of Technology (Product Development) from Massey University.

Renee keeps the wheels turning at Business Training NZ, organising the smooth running of the office along with coordinating our Public and In House training programmes.  Renee's organisational skills are second to none, she keeps everything in ship shape ensuring our programmes throughout New Zealand run seamlessly.  

Renee is a proud mother of two children and a reckless labradour puppy.  Her karaoke skills are unmatched within the office.

 Karen Taylor - Account Manager 

Karen first emigrated to New Zealand from the UK in 2008.  Having worked as an Executive PA for 9 years at the UK's largest agribusiness Dalgety, she brings a wide range of administrative skills, interpersonal skills and extensive business experience to her role as Account Manager for Canterbury & Hawke's Bay.  

Karen first joined the Business Training NZ team back in 2010 and is one of our longest serving staff members.  While over the phone you may notice traces of the accent, Karen is a proud Kiwi with two children and a very feisty little dog named Poppy.

Karen's energetic personality and friendly nature have helped her to build long lasting relationships with a wide and diverse range of clients.  Outside of work, Karen is, (lucky for us) a black belt in baking!  She's also a keen painter.




Dallas Alexander - Team Leader

Dallas joined our team early in 2017 after spending 5 years in the insurance industry working for companies such as ACE, IAG NZ and NZ Brokers.  

Dallas has a background working closely advocating and advising both small and large businesses in a wide range of industries across New Zealand.  His customer centricity, communciation and sales skills have made Dallas a great addition to the team, bringing a fresh approach and perspective to our business.  

Dallas looks after key clients throughout New Zealand.  



Tracy Burton - Sales Consultant


Tracy is one of the newest recruits to the BTNZ team, coming from a background in corporate travel.  This experience enables Tracy to bring some highly valued interpersonal and customer service skills to her role.

In her spare time Tracy enjoys being a mother of two young children, along with a michievous 'escape artist' labrador puppy! She's also a dab hand in the kitchen and has earned herself the office title of "Queen of Cakes" which was previoulsy held by Karen for a number of years! No pressure Karen!
